Melinda Copper is crazy about animals and has a keen appreciation for humor. She likes to mix them up and incorporate them into her passion for painting.

The Animal Masterpiece series of paintings started as a self teaching exercise of copying old master paintings to absorb technique. The process created some portraits of beloved pets. It wasn't long before she ran out of her own pets and went on to other's cats, dogs, rabbits, and even a sheep! Each composition was carefully thought out to accentuate some aspect of the animal's "personality".

Although Melinda no longer accepts commissions, many of her lovely paintings are available on a wide variety of products including prints, cards, clothing, calendars and more through the miracle of digital printing technology and Cafe Press.
